Your comment spurred me to add an update to the first graph in the story, so thank you, Chaz. The data on happiness increasing with age goes back decades, so it’s not just boomers who’ve experienced it. Added to 2nd paragraph of the story: The mid-life happiness low point is found “in developing and advanced countries, and the phenomenon is not confined to the current generation of older people.” I hope that’s useful context.
