We're not so different, you and I. We just aim perhaps for different audiences and so have different approaches to communicating science to the public. I have for 30+ years in journalism put accuracy and contextual honesty and fairness above clicks, but I screw up a much as the next guy, and I don't always agree with critiques. A little aside: Back in the early 2000s, when the internet was burgeoning, I pioneered the use of formal, stated Corrections on the large website I worked for. It was an obvious thing learned in my previous newspaper days, but in the online world it's too easy to make changes, pretend nothing happened, and not note them for posterity. As much as I might sometimes bristle, I very much appreciate all the challenges and disagreements that happen in Medium comments, so long as they're civil and heartfelt — it's extremely healthy.
