Waking up at a consistent time is important (as is a consistent bedtime) and getting outside first thing in the morning to feed your body with sunlight is absolutely essential to setting the body clock and promoting wakefulness during the day and better sleep at night. The science of this is a core theme in my book, and it's among the suggested tactics that can be part of an individualized strategy anyone can develop to improve their sleep. Thanks for asking!
