This is a great perspective, Mike. And you're totally right: The standard advice for good sleep habits doesn't work for everyone. Any given person might find just one tactic that could make a big difference, and there are many (I list 20 distinct tactics in my book, and many sub-tactics). And yes, some peoples' chronotypes are just way out of whack, and advice like "go to bed at the same time every night" isn't helpful on its own. And so, I should try to remember to acknowledge as much in all my sleep articles — there's no one-size-fits-all strategy. I do think there's a strategy that can help just about anyone willing to put intention into it, however — if only they can figure out what the heck it is! Thanks for the thoughts and the reminder.
