Thanks for sharing your story, Jeffrey. Lots of parallels. I'm. normally a fairly cautious person overall, and like you I'm an experienced runner. But it only takes one miscalculation, one stupid mistake. And yes, inexperienced hikers can easily put themselves out there too far.
