Sorry to hear about the car, Bill. I used to road bike (as part of triathlon training) but never felt comfortable out there. One can get hurt on a mountain bike, too, and badly, but at least it’ll be one’s own fault. Meantime, a lot less stress without the honking and the close brushes. And a side note: When I mountain biked back in my 20s and 30s, almost everyone out there was my age. Now, half the people out there are… my age! Quite a renaissance.
