Not sure which study or studies you refer to, but there are many across diverse populations globally that link poorer health outcomes to lack of sleep (less than 6 or 7 hours, generally) and poor-quality sleep (lack of slow-wave deep sleep and/or inconsistent sleep/wake cycles and shift work). The associations and conclusions in my article are not based on any single study, but on many. Hope that's helpful.
