Much truth you speak. On average, in US and many developed countries, we eat too many calories, we eat too much ultra-processed food, we don't get enough physical activity. Those factors alone add up to significantly higher risk for chronic physical and mental diseases and reduced capability. I've written much about these things, but left them out of this article on purpose, to keep it focused on the new finding and on the questions of whether lifespans can be increased.
