Just now, about 24 hours after I posted this story, three kids on little mini-bikes went swooshing through the parking lot at the grocery store where I shop. These were vehicles that probably are not included in any e-mobility studies, as they are technically small motorcycles (whether gas or electric). I had one as a kid and loved it (but it mostly sat in the garage with fouled spark plugs). I don't begrudge the kids trying to have fun, and they were wearing helmets, so that's good. But their speed and the crowded nature of the parking lot had me cringing, hoping for their safety. My point, there's lots to this issue, and my article barely scratched the surface, as many of you have noted in your own comments.
