If we don’t get a highly successful vaccine and/or if the policy is to let the coronavirus run wild, then indeed it would likely eventually become endemic, not unlike the common cold. I wrote about that intriguing possibility here. However, here’s the rub: There will be 1 million or more U.S. deaths along the way. Some argue such an approach from a public policy perspective is not a conscionable “strategy.”
