I agree with you that “physical distancing” is a more apt term than “social distancing,” and I’ve leaned into that term for several weeks now in my other stories. You’ll notice in this piece, I used “social distancing” only three times: twice in quotes (I can’t change what expert say) and once to explain the term, where I note that “physical distancing’ would perhaps be more accurate (and several experts have told me so).
