Great question, Kim. That was an oversight on my part, in part because in the scientific literature, alcohol use does not show up frequently as a leading risk factor for dementia. But there is some research linking heavy alcohol use to higher dementia risk, so I added a note about that at the bottom of the story. And of course there are MANY other reasons to curb alcohol consumption, as I've written many times before. Anyway, THANK YOU for pointing out the omission — very much appreciated.
