Great question. Because research has been so limited (largely due to marijuana having long been classified as a Schedule 1 drug) we don't have an insight on that yet, at least not that I'm aware of. Interestingly, it was only in the past 6-8 years that science has come to realize the long-term characterization of alcohol's effects was inaccurate, because they didn't take into account people who drank most of their life then stopped (often due to poor health) prior to being asked about their alcohol consumption; they were often therefore classified as unhealthy non-drinkers. So yes, your question is super important!
